4 4 Announcements & Updates Overview FY11 & FY12 Title I Grants Program Review & Technical Assistance End-of-Year Activities Reminder regarding Title I paraprofessionals

5 5 FY11 Title I Grants Extension Requests to September 30 –ARRA: Use amendment form. Due May 31. –Regular Title I: Email request. Due June 29. Amendments –Increase/Decrease: No longer possible –Line Item Changes: Up to 30 days before grant end Final Financial Reports (FR1s) –Due 60 days after grant end –Return unexpended funds Carryover –Email waiver request if more than 15% (ARRA & regular)

6 6 FY12 Title I Grants Preliminary Allocations –2.5% decrease from non-ARRA 2010-11 –Variable impact at district level –Plan conservatively Final Allocations –Expected in June –No more ARRA

10 10 Program Review & Technical Assistance Title I Program Reviews –2010-11 Desk Reviews: 50 districts –2010-11 Onsite / Telephone Interviews: 10 districts –2011-12: Coordinated Program Review schedule Regional Assistance & Networking Sessions –5 regions: hosted locally –Approximately every 3 months: March & June so far ESE-Hosted New Directors Sessions

11 11 Other End-of-Year Activities Title I Program Evaluation (including Private Schools) Title I & SES Data Collection Parent/Guardian Communications –SES and NCLB School Choice options Outreach & Coordination with Private Schools and Neglected/Delinquent Sites

12 12 Title I Paraprofessionals - Reminder What does the law say? –All instructional paras supported by Title I, including all those in SW schools, must meet certain qualification requirements HS diploma or equivalent, AND Associates or higher degree, OR 48 credit hours at higher education institution, OR ParaPro or WorkKeys assessment What must districts do? –Ensure compliance in 2011-12 school year
