The subjunctive can be used with impersonal expressions such as:
Es importante que… (it’s important that…)
Ex. Es importante que duermas. (it’s important that you sleep)
Es necesario que… (it’s necessary that…
Ex. Es necesario que te bañes todos los dias. (it’s necessary that you shower every day)
Es preferible que… (it’s preferable that….)
Ex. Es preferible que cantes cuatro canciones. (it’s preferable that you sing four songs)
Es bueno que… (it’s a good idea that…)
Ex. Es bueno que coma mucho. (it’s a good idea that you eat a lot)
Es malo que… (it’s bad that…)
Ex. Es malo que hablen mucho. (it’s bad that all of you talk too much)
Important:
Pronouns appear before the subjunctive.
