Formatting All Pages Double space throughout the entire paper
1 inch margins on all sides 12 pt, Times New Roman or Arial font Header on right hand side that includes your last name and page number.

Formatting the First Page
On left hand side write name, teacher’s name, class title and period, and date; each should be on a separate line. Title should be centered; write title in same font and size as the rest of the paper. Do not underline, bold, or put quotation marks. Only italicize, underline, or use quotations when referring to other texts within your title; articles use quotations, books use italicize or underline.

Citation from one author print or online sources
Citation when author named in sentence using exact quotes: Wordsworth stated that Romantic poetry was marked by a "spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings" (263). Citation for unknown author
If the author is unknown use title in parenthetical citation. Remember to use quotes for articles or italicized for title of books. An anonymous Wordsworth critic once argued that his poems were too emotional ("Wordsworth Is a Loser" 100). Page number unknown Just omit page number if page number is unknown.

Long quotations For quote that are four lines long use block quoting to format your citation. (Block quotes are single-spaced.) Adding or omitting words in quotes
When adding or changing words to a quote put those words in brackets. Jan Harold Brunvand, in an essay on urban legends, states: "some individuals [who retell urban legends] make a point of learning every rumor or tale" (78).
