Isaiah 65 v 17 & 18 – not remembered or even come to mind Eternal and Jerusalem the centre of it Isaiah 66 v 22 – will remain before Him Israel will also remain before Him and its name A place where righteousness dwells The city Abraham longed to find – Hebrews 11 v 10 Revelation 3 v 12 – a place promised to the righteous

3 The New Jerusalem Prepared as a bride Adorned

No death, no sorrow, no crying, no pain Isaiah 25 v 8 – speaks of the wiping away of tears and the removal of death Revelation 7 v 17 – promised to the and to the saints saved in the tribulation 1 Cor 15 v 26 – death is the last enemy to be destroyed Rev 20 v 14 – Death cast into the lake of fire 2 peter 3 v 13: Heb 12 v – destined for everlasting joy

5 The New Jerusalem He who sat on the throne – Jehovah God
Look! I have made all things new True and faithful Genuine and dependable He has already done this with believers – 2 Cor 5 v 17 Same basis for belief as we have He has spoken and it has come to pass He has never lied His word has never been proved wrong Therefore we believe what he has said about the future

6 The New Jerusalem Why all new People redeemed
The Church raptured and in Heaven The remnant of Israel saved – they have accepted their messiah at this time Death and hell in the lake of fire No more sin and all the consequences paid, whether by Christ or by the Christ rejecting sinner The earth not yet redeemed The tabernacle of God not yet with men Death not yet visibly vanquished

7 The New Jerusalem It is done “It has become”
Said of marriage – the marriage has become or has come into being I will give ‘freely’ to those who thirst from the waters of life Undeservedly While we were yet sinners Christ dies for us A gift to the undeserving The result We will inherit all things He will be our God; and, We will be His sons

8 The New Jerusalem No access for sin The Bride – the wife of The Lamb
Sin and sinners banished to the lake of fire Yet open to us – incorruptible and immortal 1 Peter 1 v 3 and following – an inheritance incorruptible that does not fade The Bride – the wife of The Lamb Yet a great city – the bride was and always is corporate Glorious! Jasper – clear as crystal – possibly diamond – massive refraction 12 gates – named after the tribes of the children of Israel Salvation is from the Jews

9 The New Jerusalem Three gates on each side Founded on the apostles
Similar to Ezekiel 48 v 31 We enter into God’s tabernacle (salvation) through the Jews Founded on the apostles Approx 1500 miles cubed and 144 cubits across the wall The holy of holies is the only cuboid structure referred to in scripture Solomon’s temple holy of holies 20 cubits cubed Each gate a pearl Pearls produced through suffering We enter through His suffering Transparent gold speaks of purity – example Tutan Khamuhn’s treasure

16 The New Jerusalem No temple – no separation and no need for a holy of holies Or the whole place is now the Holy of Holies God Himself is the temple No need for sun or moon He is the light of the world – The Lamb is the light The saved walk in its light Gates not closed by day and no night – always open then! The nations and kings have glory and honour – sinless then Nothing abominable – not even us All those in the Lamb’s book of life can enter (and only they)

17 The New Jerusalem Pure river of the water of life in the middle of the street From God’s throne – He is the source of life Tree of life both sides of the street and river Fruit – nourishment for every month – time exists still? Leaves for healing – no sickness there though? No more curse – speaks of the fall having completely lost its power All are sealed in their foreheads
