5 Results Frequency: 1. Higher frequency near downtown
2. Fewer accidents on I-90 (vs SR 520) 3. No freeway is completely free of accidents

11 Conclusions Many accidents on Interstate 5 through
downtown Seattle because of higher volume of traffic More accidents on SR 520 because of lack of shoulders Taking the “safest” route is not practical Many other factors contribute to the actual likelihood of getting into an accident
