2 Organization: A Necessary Skill in Becoming a Teacher
Good Teachers Stay Organized Helps Spread Ideas Knowing Where to Look Being a teacher is all about saving YOUR own behind! There are so many rules and regulations that you have to keep up with, in addition to the many student files and records of anything from their grades to their behavior sheets. Organization is a must! Not only will it make your life easier, but it also will save you when it comes to a crucial situation. If you are one of those teachers that LOVES what you do, your amazing ideas will want to be copied (from those who need a quick go-to plan or just other teachers who want to do something cool like you did) so you need to have the lesson plans or activities that were memorable written down or created in a file somewhere. When someone asks you if they could borrow a lesson or activity from MONTHS ago, you have it right at your fingertips and don’t have to take time out of YOUR day to search for it. If ANYONE asks you for ANYTHING, you don’t have to be one of those ‘Oh I’ll have to get back to you” and never find what you’re looking for. Teachers are already spread thin sometimes that any patience needed to find documents or forms or anything will make you even more stressed. Being organized helps you know where to look every time, and takes the burden of being a detective off your shoulders.
