Make sure you are on track to graduate – what type of graduation plan am I on? Know your rank and GPA and what type of school would be appropriate and realistic for you PSAT – all 9th-11th graders will test Wednesday,10/11 (less than 2 weeks) at Elkins HS Take SAT/ACT in the spring of junior year

Take SAT/ACT in the spring of junior year Begin thinking about career goals By using Naviance to review the Strengths Explorer/Career Interest Profiler & Cluster Finder Activity Results Visit colleges – 3 day weekends & summer programs are best times Summer internships or enrichment activities each summer Continue to build high school resume Get involved Community Service Employment Extra-Curricular Activities

College Tech/Trade Training & High Skilled Career Military Service Always ask….What is the best fit? Is a 2 year school or 4 year school the better choice for my student? Considerations: Student’s maturity/responsibility How did my student fare in high school? Have open conversations about college at home
