1 Classroom Expectations
ELA- Mrs. Bradley Muir Middle School

2 Student Behaviors Be prompt Be ready to learn when class begins.
In your seat, doing your journal! Be prepared Have materials with you for class Turning in work ON TIME, know due dates. Be a polite and positive participant Speak in a normal tone of voice, and listen attentively. Raise your hand, speak when called upon. Be productive Turn in work on time, and always do your best. Use class time for WORK not for playtime! Be a problem solver Correct problems quickly and peacefully before they escalate. If you have an issue talk with me privately.

3 Show Respect Value yourself. Be honest and ethical, and practice strong moral values. Treat all members of the classroom and all visitors with politeness and respect. Honor all the ideas and opinions of others. Offer to help other classmates, friends, and teachers. Be responsible with property and belongings.

4 Responsibility for Class
Bring binder, planner, and appropriate writing tools to class. Check the board for what materials are needed. Write HOMEWORK in planner every day! Know due dates, and submit all coursework on time. All assignments are posted on the calendar board. Ask questions if you aren’t understanding.

5 How the class works Come into class on time…when the door shuts you’re LATE! Have ALL materials for class at your desk. (this means do not get up while class is going to sharpen pencils, etc). Start WARM-UP without having me ask you too. Raise hand if you have a question. Talk when called on. Turn in work WITH YOUR NAME in the correct box. Be sure that your work is PRESENTABLE! Clean up your area and push in chair when you leave.

6 Policies Please be in your seat on time, as class begins at that time.
Turn in work ON TIME (right when you walk in the room) Listen to the speaker, respect is HUGE! Absences Check the missing calendar Check WEEBLY/MOODLE Ask a friend/classmate Each absence has a one-day grace period.

7 Grading Grades are based on the accumulation of points.
Every class work assignments are worth 5 points Points are based on: 30% Completion of assignments (class work, quizzes and homework) 70 % Major Assessments projects, exams, and self-reflection Grades are updated every Monday. Our Grading Scale 90-100% = A 80-89% = B 70-79% = C 69-60% = D 59-Below = E

8 PLEASE UNDERSTAND I will trust you until you give me reason to do otherwise. I will respect you and work with you to solve problems. I will offer extra help and alternative assessments should you require them. You are always able to REASSESS quizzes to help your understanding of the material.

9 Chalk Talk You are asked to think about ideas presented,
Make connections to others’ responses Question the ideas and responses of their peers. It is a “silent discussion” in your classroom!
