AFIS The Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) is a biometric identification (ID) methodology that uses digital imaging technology to obtain, store, and analyze fingerprint data. The AFIS was originally used by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in criminal cases.

CODIS CODIS is the acronym for the Combined DNA Index System and is the generic term used to describe the FBI’s program of support for criminal justice DNA databases as well as the software used to run these databases

CODIS VS AFIS AFIS CODIS
CODIS is a database of DNA of suspects. AFIS is a database of fingerprints of suspects Both of them have profiles that identify suspects.
