Uses of the One Pager Reviewing any concept or unit
Presenting any information Concise Easy to assess Share as Gallery Walk or Pair-Share Excellent window into the student’s mind

How to’s… Begin with the border (vocabulary or small pictures)
Add the unit number and title Draw two pictures (models, concepts, etc.) Create a word chain around each picture describing the picture Write a poem or include an acrostic from the unit Create two questions with their answers Describe a connection to the real world Add color for interest

Instructions & Rubric I have found that it works best to only give my students the instruction page. Otherwise, they will use the rubric as a checklist and they will not read the instructions.

Challenge your students
…they will surprise you. For Unit 5, I required the poem/acrostic to be about the von Thünen Model. For Unit 6, I had the students compare either two geographers or two models. For Unit 7, I had the students draw one of the urban models. Their description was to explain the model’s design; why it was drawn the way it was.
