Beringia Connected Asia to North America North Americans migrated to follow animals 10,000 years ago water increased and bridge was gone Animals died North Americans migrated again East and South Became Hunters and Gatherers Hunters were men Gatherers were women

1.3 Native Americans Adapt to the Environment
Used what nature had to survive or known as natural resources. Had to adapt or change lifestyle due to a difference in environment and climate. People could not agree on things so they split into 10 cultural groups. Each had a different way of life.

1.4 First Americans’ View of Their Environment
Native Americans believed that everything in nature had a spirit: animals, rocks, trees, etc… Native Americans adapted to the land to provide them with their needs. Native Americans tried not to waste anything they took from nature.

Questions: Write out the Question in a fine tip marker or different colored pen and write answer in complete sentences using black or blue pen or pencil! Even though Native Americans did not leave written records behind, how do we know facts about them today? Beringia connected which two areas? What is the word that means uses a new environment for survival? How many Native American Culture Groups were there?
