3 Imperialism Definition: policy or practice of one nation gaining control of other peoples and territories, and building empires for military and trade advantages

What changed in America in the late 19th to early 20th Centuries that allowed America to expand its interests worldwide? How could/did America use economics to justify a shift from isolationism to imperialism during this time? How could/did America and other imperialist countries use social causes to justify their expansion?
