Open PowerPoint and select “Slide Layout” under “Getting Started”

Find and select the layout with “Title and Content”

Select “Insert Chart” under content.

A graph will appear with a data sheet for you. You need to RIGHT click on the chart and select “Chart Type….”

Depending on what you plan on displaying, select the appropriate graph. (Example: if you are showing percentages, a pie chart is good. If you are showing Growth over time, a line chart maybe good for you.)

Your independent variable is going to be your x axis (because it is fixed either by object, time intervals, etc, etc) My example has star names.

7 Making Graphs on PowerPoint
I am only measuring apparent magnitude so I only need one variable for my y-axis. To get rid of the others, select the gray button with the number to highlight the whole row and press delete.

Change the name of your dependent variable and enter in your data.

9 Making Graphs on PowerPoint
Once complete close the data box and put in a title. Then you are done!
