Early Years Born in Harlem New York City
Father was an illiterate Jewish Immigrant from Poland His Mother was born in New York but her family was from Poland Father ran a successful ladies wear manufacturing business Business was ruined in the Great Depression

The Turning Point During the Depression the family lost all their money Moved to a small house in Brooklyn, NY “This desire to move on, to metamorphose-or perhaps it is a talent for being contemporary-was given me as life's inevitable and rightful condition”

Education Arthur attended James Madison High School in New York City, but he moved because his father was struggling. Arthur graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School. Registered for night school at City College, but quit after two weeks. Studied journalism at the University of Michigan where he won awards for playwriting

Miller Marries Marilyn
They met in April 23, 1951. They had a brief affair and had remained in contact since then Became close during the filming of Bus Stop They got married in Westchester County Courthouse Married from1956 – 1961 Divorced because of Marilyn's addiction. She was uncontrollable, so it was the best solution

The story is about the American Dream. The protagonist, Willy Loman, is one of the most famous characters in American literature. Willy’s failure to reach the American dream leads to tragedy for his family

Based on the events that took place in Salem, Massachusetts in 1692 Was written in response to Senator McCarthy and the House Un-American Activities Committee

Later Years Miller wrote the screenplay for the movie THE MISFITS for Marilyn Monroe Divorced Marilyn Monroe in 1961 Miller was politically active throughout his life married the Austrian photographer Inge Morath Miller died of heart failure at his home in Roxbury, Connecticut
