2. Just a Little about me… I taught math from 1995 to 2010
I came to JHS as a math teacher in 2002
I hold an M. Ed in School Counseling from UWA and became the counselor at JHS in 2010
I live in Lower Peach Tree with my daughter, Caitlin, and our dog, Frosty. I also have a son named Trenton who lives in Mobile.
I love karaoke, HGTV, comedies, and spending time with family and friends
Although some days have their challenges, I love working with my students because I do believe that this is “my calling”

3. What are My Goals as school Counselor?
To provide personal, academic, career, and social services that will help each student become the very best that he/she can be!
To get 100% of my students college and career ready!
To help make JHS a safe place for all students to learn.
To make 100% of my students feel loved and safe!

5. Teacher
SOME STANDARDS THAT I WILL COVER WITH During our Guidance lessons ARE MANDATED BY THE STATE. OTHER STANDARDS WILL ADDRESS SPECIFIC NEEDS AT jhs. Some topics we cover include DATING VIOLENCE, CAREER GOALS, suicide, STRESS, STUDY SKILLS, ETC.

6. One on One Counseling
I am a listener and mentor to students and their families in times of need.

7. Small Group Counseling
Counseling sometime takes place in small groups for those students who share a common issue.

8. Crisis Counselor
We serve students and their families during times where critical issues occur unexpectedly, such as tornadoes or fires.

9. Career Counselor
We help navigate students through the world of work, as well as their personal interests. We introduce them to the various career paths that are available.

10. researcher
Counselors must analyze their individual school’s data results from testing. We also must evaluate our program regularly and make necessary changes. We must research the latest data and update our resources periodically.

11. Confidentiality What does this mean?
What you tell me will be between us unless:
*You are in danger or someone else is in danger.
*You want me to share it with someone else.
*There is a need to get someone else involved to help you.
