Good Leadership is the best means for leaving a Lasting Legacy
If you are a parent, teacher, a day care provider, a coach – you are leading others all the time. No matter who you are or what you do, you are a leader, a person of influence. And to be truly an effective leader, you must first be able to lead yourself.
Leadership truly develops from the inside out. You and I are created to lead and to rule, to have dominion over the earth. If you can become the leader you ought to be on the inside, you will be able to become the leader you want to be on the outside. People will want to follow you. We live in an age of tolerance, where protecting feelings is more highly valued than proclaiming the truth. People look with suspicion upon anyone who desires to influence others to embrace their beliefs. I want to encourage you to buck popular opinion. As Thomas Jefferson proclaimed, “In matters of fashion, swim with the current. In matters of conscience, stand like a rock.”

4. Our Area’s Goal – to produce 10 Directors by Dec 2016.
I am so proud that our unit area is an area where we produce LEADERS. There are many Leaders in our unit are moving up, Senior Consultant Selina Tan, Senior Consultant Chellent, Senior Consultant Angela Chin, Senior Consultant Ana Ciochina, Team Builder Alethea, Team Builder Esther Chew, Senior Consultant Ann Chen, Senior Consultant Nicole, Senior Consultant Patricia Toh. I know that you will achieve your goals to become Directors, when you put your mind to it, and focus on doing Mary Kay as a career.
Leadership is influence – nothing more, nothing less. I want to challenge you to become a dedicated student of leadership. A legacy that does not include people has no eternal value. That is why leadership is critical. Make it your aim to practice transformational leadership, where people’s lives are changed from the inside out.
Here’s some people principles that have helped leaders connect with people, check it out:
Start with Yourself
Practice the 30-second rule (encourage them during the first 30 seconds when you meet your team members)
Let people know you Need them
Create a great Memory and Visit it often (Effective leaders find a way to communicate future vision and past victories, because their people need to be constantly reminded of both).
Compliment People in front of People
Give Others a Reputation to Uphold
Say the Right Words at Right Time
Encourage the Dream of Others
Pass the Credit On to others
Offer your Very Best

Working together increases the odds of winning together.
I hope that the above tips will help you to transform and let’s make an impact on the people that we meet. Guard your heart with diligence. My prayer is that you will be transformed as a leader, then you won’t be able to keep from influencing your world. I looked forward to seeing you on stage with me for this April conference.
