1 Compliance Monitoring Data Portal (CMDP)
“The Basics” Data Management User’s Preconference Deric Teasley (OGWDW-IB)

2 11/29/2018 What is the CMDP? The CMDP is a web-based data reporting system comprising: A web application Web services Synchronization tools Purpose: Enable laboratories and public water systems to electronically report compliance sample results to primacy agencies (e.g., state agencies). The CMDP is a web-based data reporting system. It consists of a web application with a user interface. Web services or APIs to communicate data and synchronization tools to keep CMDP and S / State data in sync. Its purpose is to enable labs and public water systems to electronically report compliance sample results to primacy agencies.

3 What are the goals of the CMDP?
11/29/2018 What are the goals of the CMDP? To enable drinking water utilities and laboratories to report data electronically to primacy agencies. To reduce errors while increasing data accuracy and completeness. To decrease the overall reporting burden for primacy agencies. Goals: Enable electronic reporting via multiple data transmission methods. Reduce errors and increase accuracy leveraging validation within the system. Decrease to overall reporting burden, by having electronic records and application validation of submitted samples (missing values, etc.). So, how to get started?

4 Visit the CMDP Help Center https://cmdp.zendesk.com/hc/en-us
Visit the CMDP Help Center. Resources are available for activities in preparation for transitioning to CMDP such as data clean-up to avoid errors. In case the URL is too much to remember, you can always Google ‘CMDP Help’. The Internet will know what you mean… What else to get started? 2/14/17 CMDP Transition Kick-off

5 Sandbox Access Isolated Environment for Testing the CMDP
Contact the CMDP Help Center to Request Access Available for Demo Sandbox: The Sandbox Environment is available for Primacy Agencies to test the functionality of the CMDP. Request this access through the CMDP Help Center and credentials will be generated for you for this environment only, in all three administrative roles (CMDP admin, Lab admin, PWS admin). This environment can be used to demonstrate and review your samples submission process. Really want to get started?

6 Preparing for Transition
Checklist to Migrate State Data Null Fields? Valid Addresses? Duplicates? Review Checklist to Migrate State Data to CMDP document. This checklist is only for SDWIS / State primacy agencies and will assist in identifying records that require information to reduce fatal transmission errors to the CMDP. The checklist outlines the required fields that must be populated in order for the Data Sync Engine (DSE) to migrate a record to the CMDP.  The checklist also explicitly identifies “recommended” and “optional” fields that, when populated, create a more complete record to maximize the CMDP functionality. SDWIS / Free primacy agencies must map to SDWIS / State then confirm the values for required and recommended fields are populated with valid values (and not null) before migrating using their own DSE equivalent.

7 Organizational Registration
Org. Info Address CMDP CMDP team can take that initial organizational information and pre-load it into Shared Cromerr Services (SCS) and the CMDP. This allows for the primacy agency organization to be registered in the system and users can then be registered to that organization.

8 SCS Role Registration: Pre-Production
Please References: CMDP Role Registration User Guide After the CMDP team confirms that the primacy agency organization has been added to the CMDP, the CMDP administrator will be contacted to continue with registration. Let the CMDP Team know whom the CMDP admins will be and we can work through the SCS Helpdesk. The CMDP administrator role must be manually added so an must be used to start the admin registration process. Note: This is the registration for the Pre-production e and is used for testing purposes.

9 Recruit Lab / Water Systems

10 Reporting Sample Data to the CMDP?
11/29/2018 Reporting Sample Data to the CMDP? CMDP Web Services Excel Templates User Interface Web-forms using the CMDP user interface Excel templates for sample results and operational data Web services using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Sample data can then be submitted via the CMDP. Sample data can be submitted from the web forms user interface. Excel templates are also available that create XML files that can then be uploaded, supporting sample results as well as operational data. Laboratories can also use LIMS systems to submit sample data via web services. A primacy agency can receive submissions from any combination of these submission methods.

11 What Does the CMDP Support?
11/29/2018 What Does the CMDP Support? The CMDP supports the following types of samples and results: Microbiological Operational parameters Total coliform E. coli Coliphage Enterococci Cryptosporidium Turbidity Disinfectant residuals Entry Point Distribution System Chemical and radionuclides Calculated operational sample information Inorganic chemicals Organic chemicals (VOCs and SOCs) Radionuclides Locational Running Annual Averages (LRAA) for TTHM and HAA5 Composite samples for radionuclides and chemicals The CMDP currently supports the following: Microbiological Operational Parameters Chemical and Radionuclides Calculated Operational Sample Information Composite Samples for Radionuclides and Chemicals

12 Successes! CMDP Help Center Application Improvements
Comprehensive Documentation Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) Migration Checklist Release Notes (What’s New) Application Improvements Greater Use Cases Supported based on Primacy Agency Feedback Enhancements postponed until Fall 2018 to focus on Prime Established the CMDP Help Center to guide adopters through the process. Comprehensive documentation that not only allows for primacy agencies to self transition but also allows for references to be provided for questions. Many of those questions get compiled into an FAQ. We have published a migration checklist to assist with data clean-up for a smoother transition. Release notes documenting updates are distributed with each sprint release. A number of application improvements have also been deployed that expand the number of use cases supported based on PA feedback such as allowing a different lab ID to be reported for repeat samples. Enhancements have been postponed until the fall to focus on Prime development.
