A ratio is a comparison of two or more quantities in the same category.
Example: A ratio of boys to girls or A ratio of apples to oranges A ratio of cars to trucks BACK

Either way, you read it as three to five
A ratio can be written three ways: 3: /5 3 to 5 Either way, you read it as three to five BACK

Ratios are often expressed as fractions in simplest form or as a decimal.

Mile per Gallon M.P.G. stands for miles per gallon and is usually used for gas mileage in cars. BACK
