2 The Jewish people in Jerusalem.
WHO The Jewish people in Jerusalem.

3 An underground cemetery with space for 22,000 burial spots.
WHAT An underground cemetery with space for 22,000 burial spots.

4 WHEN They started building a year ago and the construction will be done in an estimated 5 years. Although, people will begin to be buried in 2017.

5 WHERE? It is in Jerusalem, Israel underneath the Givat Shaul cemetery. It is 150 ft deep inside the core of the mountain known as The Mountain of the Resting.

6 WHY? Jewish prophecy states that the dead will rise after the coming of the Messiah, and those closest to Jerusalem will be resurrected first. So people want to be the closest to the center of Jerusalem. Since the city is out of space above ground they put the cemetery underground.

7 How does this event relate to me?
Many of the people in our country are buried in cemeteries because of our religious beliefs. I do not think our government will help pay for this because it is not as important as the expenses for the war in Syria. I do not think this will happen in Green because we do not have a limited amount of space. Also, we do not have the amount of money required to construct this multi million dollar cemetery.

8 Social Studies Words Culture- because culture ties in with religion and the construction of this underground cemetery was based off of the common religion in Jerusalem History- There is a long history of religious beliefs that surrounds the idea of a Messiah coming.
