What is an Interactive Notebook?
A personalized textbook A working portfolio housing all of your notes, classwork, rough drafts, etc. – in one convenient spot.

Left Side – Right Side Orientation
The Left side is “left” for you. This is the side that you can use to show me your creativity, take ownership and showcase your understanding of tasks at hand. The Right side is “Restricted” and contains teacher guided notes or modeled instruction. Nothing else should be placed on the Right side!!

No ripped out pages or torn corners No doodles that are irrelevant to notes Notebook should only be used for English (No other classes!!) Date and number each page

Let’s Setup your notebook!
Write your FIRST and LAST name on the front cover Write English III and Ms. Norris on the front cover Write your period on the front cover

Turn to the 1st page in your notebook:
Shiloh Gibbs Period 1/Norris Using a sticky note, jot down the following items required for this page: FIRST and LAST name Period/Teacher Pictures of hobbies you enjoy Pictures of books or genres you’ve read or enjoy In the lower right hand corner write COVER PAGE

On the next two sets of pages:
Write the word Date on both pages, inside the red marked margin line Using the top margin, title both pages Table of Contents. Assignment Assignment Page #s Date Page #s

Turn to the next set of pages in your notebook:
Using the LOWER outside corners of each page, number your pages from 1-50, use the fronts and backs of page. Which side is ODD and which side is EVEN?
