2 Who Are We? Reinvigorate Science and Mathematics Teaching PD responsibility to assist schools across the state Encourage more students to go on to STEM courses

3 What We Do Students have access to information all the time Portal used to – Store information – Provide space for collaboration between staff Between students Between staff and students

4 Use of (Mobile) Technology Students have access to desk top computers around the building BUT – Most have laptops PC, Mac, Tablet, Linux etc – Phones used to Record lessons – Image – Video Create multimodal presentations Contact teachers and peers

5 Use of Social Media Used at different levels by different teachers – You can lead a horse to water …… – They will use what they are comfortable with Facebook used to connect teachers with their class beyond the Portal Students follow staff at conferences on Twitter, Instagram

6 Assessment / Demonstrations of Learning Students sit traditional tests but also – Make Documentaries Prac reports History videos Photostories – Learning Journals – Public Presentations to class or larger groups – Displays

7 Demonstrations of Learning Earth Summit – Explanation and invitation Our Display in the foyer
