New EDM electrodes manufactured with electrically conductive materials by Additive manufacturing (AM)
2
TEASER EDM electrodes are manufactured by machining, consuming a lot of time and accruing high costs. AM processes enable the production of EDM electrodes saving a lot of time, raw material, resources and costs. For that, new highly conductive materials for AM are required. AIJU has developed highly conductive phenolic resins [under patent] and aims to apply its know-how to the formulation of new conductive materials for different AM processes. They will be validated in the manufacturing of EDM electrodes.

ORGANISATION PROFILE Talleres Tibi, S.L. is a SME devoted to the processing of thermoplastics products by injection moulding. It has an staff of 20 people that gives support to the intensive industry sited in the surrounding, mainly devoted to children products, packaging and their auxiliary industry. Talleres Tibi, has its own department to design and processes the EDM electrodes. It is highly experienced in injection moulding and mouldmaking.
