Level One Umpiring Award
Introduced November 2013 55 trained tutors – on-going training programme 3664 candidates (Jan 2014 to March 2016) 11% assessed Centrally organised £50 per candidate 6.5 hours (2.5 hours pitch work) On line rules test Focus on behaviours & attitudes Other sports

Umpire Developer Course
3 hour course Central to umpire progression “club people who want to assist their club’s umpires to develop” £10 per candidate Managed by the CHUA Certificate of attendance – Clubs First

Register for a course Rules test Attend a course Receive a Level One number (U) Practice – umpire developer Assessment/ Feedback/ (A) And onwards and upwards !

Introduction to Umpiring
For “beginners” in umpiring 3 hour course 50% practical work £25 Club-based Not an umpiring qualification Minimum age is 12 (L1 is 14)

RED CARDS EH disciplinary code
It is possible……for a player to receive two yellow cards. However, when an offence for which a card has already been awarded is repeated, the same card must not be used again and a more severe penalty must be awarded.

Move towards one rule for all hockey A player can receive two yellow cards as above If the second MINOR offence is the same as the first then a red card must be issued A red card report form must be completed and sent to the appropriate person Option D – second yellow card No further suspension beyond the game What to show ?

RED CARDS A red card offence is a red card offence !
Red card report – CDA – Options A, B & C Speed of reporting is essential A card can only be issued between the first whistle and the conclusion of the game (including a penalty stroke competition, half time and the interval between 70 minutes and the start of the ps competition)
