Igneous rocks can: Get weathered and then compacted into sedimentary rocks. Move underground and undergo high heat and pressure and change into metamorphic rocks. Re-melt then cool and harden again and become a new igneous rock. Sedimentary rocks can: Get weathered and then compacted into new sedimentary rocks. Melt then cool and harden and become an igneous rock. Metamorphic rocks can: Move to the surface, get weathered and then compacted into sedimentary rocks.
