We are a Leader in Me school. We focus on the 7 Habits of Happy Kids. These habits include: Be proactive. Begin with the end in mind. Put first things first. Think win-win. Seek first to understand, then to be understood. Synergize. Sharpen the saw.

7 We will offer many opportunities to develop leadership skills.
At the end of each nine weeks, we will have a celebration for those who have earned 80% or higher on Dojo. We will keep track of behaviors on Dojo and in our leader binders. We focus on positive discipline and our goal is to instill the leadership qualities of responsibility, self respect, pride, and a team spirit. Students will have classroom leadership jobs.

Superstars are well mannered friends striving for our personal best. Mrs. Huff: Work together each day to learn, be a good friend, and be a positive leader.

16 There will be homework Monday through Thursday.
Students will not miss recess for missing homework as per school policy. They will be docked 5 points on Dojo for each missing assignment. Homework is very important to practice skills! Students will have several opportunities to demonstrate mastery. Quizzes and classwork can be corrected. Not all work is recorded as students work towards achieving the standards. Tests can be corrected for half credit. (does not include spelling tests) You will be able to log onto Synergy soon to see your child’s recorded grades.

Will need a student id # and password to access Information about exactly what steps are necessary to get started on the online grading system are available in the office (identification will be necessary to be given information) Numerical average of assignments/assessments Assessments - teacher observations classwork/tests/quizzes - student journals - performance tasks - rubrics
