2. What is NJHS?
The National Junior Honor Society is a service group that focuses on making their community a better place. The East chapter of NJHS has been very successful in the past years. This society focuses on leadership and upholding the 5 pillar of NJHS in everyday life.

4. Five Pillars Examples and Requirements
Scholarship: Do well in school and maintain a 3.5 GPA
Citizenship: Keep a G or O citizenship grade throughout the school year.
Service: Complete the 20 required service hours, and if possible, MORE!
Leadership: Be a leader in all the clubs, sports, etc that you do!
Character: Be kind and friendly, get involved in the school/community, and keep an unblemished discipline record. Overall, be a Titan!

5. How to Join Pick up an informational packet.
Turn in the two letters of recommendation and personal letter on why you should be a member of the NJHS by Sept. 29 to Mrs. Bussa’s room.The letters of recommendation have to be filled out by an adult who is not a member of your family.
Wait to hear from us. You will get a message in your Titan Time.

The meetings this year are on Oct. 1, Nov. 5, Dec. 3, Jan. 7, Feb. 4, Mar. 3, Apr. 7
All recorded service hours must be turned in to Mrs. Bussa by March 19, 2016.

7. Important Details
If you can’t make a meeting because of a practice or game, or something similar, it’s O.K.- we are very flexible, just let us know.
The letter and 2 recommendations are due by September 29.
The special meeting dates, election, and induction ceremony are to be announced.
The NJHS game day is Dec. 3.
