3 Before you start designing, what do you want the key features of your font to be?
- Who are you designing it for and what is their personally like? - What mood am I setting - it is for something exciting, calm, mysterious or angry? - Will colour be involved? - How can I give my font personality? This example of a font shows you development and the purpose of its creation Sizing: Think about how your font will look on a giant poster, a small leaflet & printed on fabric etc. Will it work? Once you’ve decided on the style of your font – it’s time to get technical! How can you make your font different from the rest? I will look at the line thicknesses I will look at the angles and the curves I will look at its purpose I will look at

This font has attitude These fonts are simplistic, calming and smooth It is angular, strong & edgy This artwork is more about the image and the simplistic font draws you in to look more at the image. The colour palette works well with the font style by using calm tonal colours

5 The grid seen below is to used to develop a style letter suitable for a Beyonce poster inspired by Pop Art. An example of a simple style is also seen. Draw three more styles you consider to be appropriate for a Beyonce Pop Art advertising. Select the one that you think is the most suitable and explain your choice. In your explanation: 1. What do I notice about the type faces I’ve made? 2. What stands out most in the images? 3. Which colours can be used as inspiration to make pop art artwork? 4. What font styles already exist in her artwork? 5. How can you use existing products to influence your pop art style? 6 cm 12 cm
