3. Valley Regional HS: Deep River Annual Meeting
Employer council had evaluated 2 CTE programs for pre-apprenticeship and decided to place an On The Job (OJT) value as opposed to an academic value for graduates of the programs as follows:
Both Certificates are endorsed by Connecticut's Department of Labor for those seniors who have successfully completed Introduction to Manufacturing and Advanced Manufacturing.
Certificate of Advanced Study in Manufacturing
Industry recognized portable credential, awarded to students who have completed one full credit in manufacturing
Local manufacturers have recognized that this 200 hour certificate can be applied towards their apprenticeship requirements in the area of manufacturing.
Certificate of Advanced Study in Engineering & Design
Industry recognized portable credential, awarded to students who have successfully completed 2 full credits in Technical Drafting, Engineering & Design and Advanced Engineering & Design.
Local manufacturers and related industries have recognized that this 400 hour certificate can be applied towards their apprenticeship requirements in those areas.
2017 OAT awarded certificates in manufacturing to 2 students and in engineering/design 6 certificates issued.
2018 OAT awarded certificates in manufacturing to 9 students and in engineering/design 13 certificates issued.

4. Waterbury Career Academy

Developed an articulation agreement with Naugatuck Valley Community College
graduates get academic credit at NVCC for the manufacturing program AND a pre-apprenticeship credential.
Many of the students are working part-time as pre- apprentices in local companies.
This year we issued pre-apprenticeship credentials to 58 graduates.

5. Cromwell High School Annual Meeting
A pre-apprenticeship completion credential for academic purposes are issued and any CTECS program can accept/take into consideration this credential as proof of academic proficiency.
Cromwell high school student that become an apprentice – they take classes offered by the CTECS or Vinyl Tech in Middletown in the evenings
This as an AP credit type for an occupation as opposed to AP credit given towards a degree.
Cromwell High School student must achieve a 75% or better, a pre- apprenticeship completion credential for academic purposes in Multi – trade basic math computation
This credential is valid for consideration of the CTECS evening supervisor for 3 years after the credential is issued.

This program was designed by the members of AMEP and taught by CCAT staff at the school.
Many students also became pre- apprentices and worked in manufacturing shops in the afternoon while enrolled in the CCAT educational program in the morning.

Internship Summer Program
Registered pre-apprenticeship program with DOL’s Office of Apprenticeship Training
26 high school students enrolled in this summer from 11 area high school CTE programs
14 students will be in the shipyard in various trades. They will be paid $16.72 per hour
12 students will be in the design offices and will be paid $15.92 per hour
The 11 area high schools involved are:
