2. Native Americans

3. Intro Native Americans were one of the worst fears for settlers.
They didn’t like their land being colonized by someone else.
They attacked settlers, and killed many of them.
Because of this they got the nickname ¨The Savages¨.

4. Hunting Native americans were very skilled hunters.
They used weapons like arrows, and spears.
They hunted animals for resources to make things like teepees, and clothing.
They mostly hunted bison.

5. Clothing Summer Winter Chiefs wore very cool headdresses all the time!

Females wore skirts, and light dresses.
Males wore simple clothes, like a soft shirt, and pants, or shorts.
Males, and females as well, wore thick parkas to conserve heat.

6. Friendship They began to trade, and help each other.
Believe it or not, the Native Americans, and settlers, eventually came together in peace!
They began to trade, and help each other.
They soon became good friends!

7. Thanksgiving Thanksgiving is a very famous holiday in America.
It was a big feast celebrated by the Native Americans, and the Pilgrim settlers.
At Thanksgiving, we eat turkeys. But this was not a food at the first Thanksgiving!
Sometimes a horn shaped basket filled with food is in the middle of the table. This is called a cornucopia.
