3. In order to change a stem, you must…
1. Drop the ending (-ar,-er, -ir)
2. Change the STEM
**2nd-to-the-last vowel**
ex. cerrar, querer
3. Add the correct ending to each form

4. REMEMBER!!!!
The stems change in all forms, EXCEPT the nosotros form

5. The following are e:i stem-changing verbs

6. Conseguir (e:i)- to get; to obtain

7. Decir (e:i)- to say, to tell
*Irregular only in the YO form

8. Pedir (e:i)- to ask for, to request

9. Seguir (e:i)- to follow, continue

10. Repetir (e:i)- to repeat

11. conseguir (e:i)- to obtain
