3 Chlorophyll is required for photosynthesis to occur
Chlorophyll is required for photosynthesis to occur. Chlorophyll is a green pigment found in the chloroplasts of plant cells. Chlorophyll absorbs light waves in the blue-violet wavelength and the red regions in the visible spectrum of light. The light energy absorbed by chlorophyll is transferred to the electrons in the chlorophyll molecule which then provides the energy needed for the photosynthesis reactions to take place. Photosynthesis is a series of reactions that involve the light reactions and the light-independent reactions.
