Location: Along the inner membrane of the mitochondria (cristae)
Involves a number of enzymes embedded in the cristae Products (NADH and FADH2) of glycolysis and the Krebs Cycle are in the cristae

Step 1 NADH and FADH2 give up electrons to a protein (NADH dehydrogenase)

Step 2 The electrons provide energy to move H+ ions across the cristae from the inner compartment to the outer compartment.

Step 3 H+ ions travel through the enzyme ATP synthase, causing the bottom to spin The spinning provides energy to attach a phosphate group onto ADP, creating ATP
