2 Communications PEI CPEI is our province’s full-service communications agency with a mandate to ensure Islanders are well informed and understand what their government is doing and why. The agency is organized into three areas: Corporate Communications includes departmental communications, corporate & Island Information Services. Creative Services includes graphic design, photography, multi-media & translation. Document Publishing includes printing and mail sorting / delivery.

3 Services Corporate Communications
The Corporate Communications team provides strategic counsel and support to the Premier, Ministers and departments which includes: issuing media releases & advisories on behalf of government; managing the government’s social media presence; creating corporate backgrounders / communications materials; logistical and communications support for legislative briefings, news conferences, special events and during storms and emergencies. The Departmental Communications team provides support to their respective departments and ministers by: developing key messaging; news releases; media relations; speeches; web content; issues management; communication plans; advertising plans; event plans; legislative plans.

4 Creative Services Translation Services
The Creative Services team provides visual communication expertise to government departments. Services include: graphic design; exhibits and displays; signage; illustration; photography; multimedia and video. This team also oversees the government’s Visual Identity Standards. Translation Services Provides professional English-to-French translation services to departments & agencies. From translation to proofreading and terminology services, Communications PEI’s team of professional translators enables the delivery of information and communication in French. Translation Services is called upon by government for a wide range of materials including: brochures; application forms; web content; signage; reports; advertisements; correspondence; speeches; and news releases.

5 Queens Printer PEI Mail
Provides printing services to government departments, including the Legislative Assembly. Publishes Royal Gazette weekly. Manages production projects for departments such as property tax statements, variable data publishing with Education, Health and Tourism clients. PEI Mail Provides mail sorting & delivery services to government offices across the province. Letter insertion service for mail outreach initiatives. Social Services and Payment Processing cheque insertion and distribution.

6 Document Publishing Centre
and PEI Mail Print volumes increased, and demand is steady for printed reports, brochures and program marketing materials. Fiscal saw 782,000 more print impressions than 4371 work orders — an increase of 412 from previous year. Health promotions, student assessment exams and student Apprenticeship learning module books have expanded.

7 Postal Services distributed a new Medicare Health Card renewal survey form to verify residency, build a provincial language profile and establish an organ donor database. Personalized forms sent province-wide to over 120,000 residents in over 60,000 households. 90% of households had 4 people or fewer residing. Inserted up to 6 items in a #10 business envelope. 32% rate of return for survey. Mail volume increased by 75,000 pieces over previous year.

8 Staff turnover from retirement and relocation necessitates cross training and knowledge sharing.
Equipment renewal process is in progress for digital color press upgrade.

9 Active Directory and Windows 7 migration
Upgrade computers. Authenticates and authorizes all users. Xerox consultation to ensure print shop functionality.

10 Copyright Copyright Board of Canada sets royalties May 2015.
Provinces and Territories pay 10 years of tariff fees to Access Copyright. Federal Court of Appeal to hear Access Copyright judicial review application — June 20, 2016.
