Benefits to local government:
Offer e-pay services through a state-sponsored site. No additional hardware/software is needed. Setting up a e-pay account is easy and inexpensive. Funds go directly into jurisdiction’s account—no “middleman.” State staff assists you. A jurisdiction can be up and running in a matter of weeks. The site is free to the customer.
4
Benefits to industry: The site is free.
Saves time and money on travel, filling out forms and writing checks. Contractors can apply and pay for permits online, any time of day or night, from home, the office or even the job site. Customers can apply and pay for multiple permits from multiple jurisdictions in with one credit card transaction. The site correctly selects the jurisdiction responsible for issuing the permit. The site provides info about permits and links to building departments.
