Did I correct my mistakes? Can a reader understand what I wrote? Is there missing information? Whats the best format to use? What are the parts of that format? Why am I writing? What is the purpose? Show that the writing skills you need for job search are the same as what you need to keep your job Shows Ss actual, authentic tasks (job applications, telephone messages, calendars) Organize and present information to serve the purpose. Practice filling in names, writing dates and times, writing a job description and a phone message using simple sentences Pay attention to conventions of English language usage. Strategies for spelling for names, abbreviations Strategies for simple sentences, verb tenses, logical sequences, compound sentences, frequent words Seek feedback and revise to enhance the effectiveness of the communication.
