Developed by Android, Inc., purchased by Google with an Apache license, Android source code has been available since October 21 st 2008. What is it?

Android was designed as an OS capable of rivaling the most popular smart phones on the market. It has the added bonus of being able to be utilized by any developer. Unlike any other PDA OS, it can multitask! What is it?

The OS is based on the Linux kernel so code can be written in Java with all Java libraries or compiled from C++ and other languages. How does it work?

Conclusion… I have a Droid phone, and I love it! It does everything I want; networking, banking, movies, telephone, all simultaneously!

Conclusion… The Android operating system is rapidly becoming the most popular platform for mobile devices in the world. This may be because of its wide range of applications combined with Googles ingenious technology.
