2. What will studying AQA GCSE Spanish be like?
UNIT 1
Listening = 20% of final marks
UNIT 2
Reading = 20% of final marks
UNIT 3
Speaking= 30% of final marks
You will take part in two speaking tasks, one in year 10 and another in year 11. You will be recorded taking part in a conversation with your teacher.
UNIT4
Writing = 30% of final marks
You will complete 2 pieces of coursework, one in year 10 and another in year 11, both during class time in exam conditions.

3. What grades can I expect to get?
You will work at either foundation or higher level. Higher level is for pupils who are aiming for grade C or above.
You should expect to work hard in order to obtain a good grade in Spanish – put 100% effort into your studies and you will get good results.
You will be set weekly homework including learning at least 20 new words of vocab a week.
You will be expected to come to lessons organised and prepared to work
You will use Spanish in the classroom as often as possible- get used to hearing your teacher tell you what to do in Spanish!

4. So what kind of topics will I be studying?
There are FOUR sections which consist of two topics each:
Lifestyle
Health- Healthy and unhealthy lifestyles and their consequences.
Relationships and Choices – Family & friends, future plans, marriage
2. Leisure
Freetime and media – Freetime activities, shopping,money,fashion
Holidays – Plans, preferences, experiences,what to see,getting around
3. Home and Environment
Home & local area –special occasions,home,town,region & neighbourhood
Environment – current problems, being environmentally friendly
4. Work and education
School & college future plans – what school is like, pressures & problems
Current & future jobs – Looking for & getting a job, advantages/disadvantages
