Why Aim for the Active Flag?
We decided to apply for the Active Flag for a number of reasons, including.... Improving the overall fitness of our students Exposing our students to a wider variety of sports Improving the delivery of PE lessons Developing links with parents and the community Looking for positive behaviour impacts Creating school spirit through events and challenges

Games -GAA coaching with Mr. O Bhroinn
-Spikeball coaching with Spikeball Ireland and Loreto College -Cricket coaching with Leinster Cricket -Rugby coaching with Leinster Rugby coach Ken Some games developed /introduced in PE classes: Dodgeball, rounders, tennis, hockey and badminton Playground Games: -Tag games , Ship to Shore Devising New Games -PSSI lesson plans put into practice

Athletics -Senior students athletics training
-Entry into Santry Athletics - Run Around Europe whole-school running initiative in May -High jump and shot-putt challenges during Active School Week -Skipping challenge completed during Afternoon Club.

Dance -Craic sa Chlós do Sheachtain na Gaeilge
-Dance Club at yard time -Dance leaders at break -Introduction of free dance to yard -Drop Everything and Dance during Term II -Dance parties after Active Assemblies -GoNoodle dances on wet days

Gymnastics -Gymnastic movement and balance sequences
-Counterbalances and partner balances -Yoga in Afternoon Club with Miss O’Malley to improve gross motor skills and to help improve mindfulness skills

Outdoor and Adventure Activities
-Walks and trails in the nearby Merrion Square/ Herbert Park -Orienteering in Trooperstown Wood Co. Wicklow -Co-operative games

Aquatics Swim classes for all children from Senior Infants to Sixth Class.
