Power By: Zein Hassan, Mohamed Sanger, Rashid Baydoun
2
Definition Power is the rate of doing work and the amount of energy consumed per unit time.
3
Explanation When an object increases their force and speed they are increasing their power. As an object increases the speed it decreases the amount of time.
4
Units The unit of power is the joule per second (J/s).
Most common unit used is watts.
5
Formula power=work/time power= force x velocity
7
Connections Mechanical power- combination of forces and movements
Electrical power- the rate, per unit time, at which electrical energy is transferred by an electric circuit.
8
Relations Power is related to work because power is defined as work done per unit time.
9
Examples of Power The faster the ball is pitched the more power there is. The faster the bat gets to the ball leads to more power.
