Governance for Quality and Safety
What is ….. Is described as: the system through which healthcare teams are accountable for the quality, safety and experience of service users in the care they have delivered. For health care staff this means: Specifying the clinical standards you are going to deliver and showing everyone the measurements you have made to demonstrate that you have done what you set out to do.

Terms of Reference Develop the eligibility criteria for SECM to have their name placed on the list of midwives available to provide the home birth service on behalf of the HSE Approve the inclusion of the individual midwife onto the HSE list of SECM, a review of the application Maintain ongoing review of all methods of Competency Assurance in collaboration with the Bord Altranais agus Cnaimhseachais na hEireann for SECM Maintain ongoing clinical review of the performance of the service Review the Tables 1 – 6 for eligibility for women accessing a home birth Oversee the development of systems of clinical governance for home birth services Submit an executive report biannually to Chair of National Implementation Committee
