SMB Custom Fields

2. Problem:
Users need to track additional data that SMB doesn’t handle today.
Users currently need to keep track of this information outside of SMB, which is less efficient and convenient.
Each customer has unique needs.
Clearly and concisely state the problem. What is the business level issue and pain. It should be compelling. Did I mention be concise?!

3. Solution:
Extend the database with custom, user-definable fields for flexibility.
User chooses to add new custom fields where desired.
User specifies field properties to tailor the field to their particular need.
Values for custom fields can be calculated from other data fields.
What is your proposed solution, again less is more be concise and clear (just state the facts, sell the idea on the next slide “Benefits and Barriers”

4. Benefits & Barriers:
Will increase customer satisfaction and retention.
Could possibly be sold as an add-on module to generate revenue.
Possible revenue to channel by assisting users with customization and reporting.
Possible mild performance issues.
Sell like Hell! Why is this going to be the greatest thing to hit CRE?? Identify any limiting factors! Barriers could be anything: money, time, complexity, shift in mind set, will not be politically correct, ………………….

5. Underlying Magic/Technology:
We’re taking custom fields to a new level with the ability for users to automatically calculate from values in other fields.
Brings some of our existing functionality of custom, calculated fields used in reporting to the typical data entry form.
What is the essence of your secret sauce? It could be sheer brilliance or a mix of brilliance and applied technology – you decide!

6. Next Steps:
Marketing needs to determine if this would be sold as an add-on module.
PM needs to place it on the roadmap.
