2 Elliptical Orbit Elliptical orbit is the oval path of a planet. For example, Pluto has an oval shaped path, therefore, it has an elliptical orbit.

3 Inertia Inertia is the property of matter by which it retains its state of rest or its speed along a straight line so long as it is not acted upon by an outside force. An example is a coin resting on a piece of paper and then the paper being pulled. The coin will drop into the cup. Before After

4 Gravity Gravity is the force pulling objects down. An example is skydiving, after you jump out of the plane, gravity pulls you down to the ground before you deploy your parachute.

5 Period of revolution Period of revolution is when a planet has fully rotated around the sun. Earth takes 365 days or one year. Neptune takes 84 years. Mars takes 1.8 years.

6 Period of Rotation Period of rotation of a planet in our Solar System is the length of time it takes the planet to spin once around on its axis. For example, Earth takes 24 hours or one day. Saturn takes 10 hours 32 minutes 35 seconds.
