9 Tools As mentioned before, the more senses you engage, the more depth you will create. When something become tactile, you are crossing the midline of the brain and engaging both sides. Fidgets Thinking Putty Kinetic Sand Button Bowls-yes, Grandma’s “Mermaid” Pillows “Hugs-they ARE good medicine. You need 4 hugs a day for survival, 8 for maintenance, and 12 for growth.” (YES-there is actual research on the power and health benefits of hugs. I am not sure what study this quote came from, but I loved it when I heard it.) Singing-it is a unifying activity! People cannot all talk at the same-but they can sing at the same time!
