Numbers Reciting numbers 1:1 correspondence Recognising numbers
1-5 and then 1-10 Knowing the difference between numbers and letters. Having more or less

Adding – knowing that you have to count two groups of numbers to find the total
Subtracting – Knowing that the total changes

Writing numbers – song! Finding doubles of numbers to 10 Understanding sharing and halving

Shape Being able to name 2D shapes and 3D shapes and describe them, e.g. number of sides, corners (2D shapes), number and shape of faces (3D shapes).

Measures Measuring – longer than, shorter than, heavier than, lighter than Capacity – full, empty, heavier, lighter, half full, almost empty Time – sequencing, talking about how long things take, noticing how clocks work.

Patterns Repeated patterns – being able to say what comes next in a repeated pattern, being able to create their own patterns Sorting – by colour, shape, object, size Matching – what things are the same/different?
