1 MUST I DO PERSONAL WORK? John 4:35

2 MUST I DO PERSONAL WORK? "Do you not say, 'There are yet four months, and then comes the harvest'? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest. (Jn. 4:35)

3 MUST I DO PERSONAL WORK? Man has separated himself from God, but God has always wanted man back (1 Tim. 2:3-4). There is nothing more important for the Christian to do than share God’s will with others. Yet, for many of us this is the most difficult thing God asks of us and many of us don’t do it. This morning, we want to ask the question, must I do personal work?

4 Recognize the need for personal WORK
Must I Do Personal Work? Recognize the need for personal WORK

5 RECOGNIZE THE NEED FOR PERSONAL WORK
All will sin and all will suffer the consequences of sin (Rom. 3:23; Isa. 59:1-2; Rom. 6:23). But what does it mean to be lost?

6 RECOGNIZE THE NEED FOR PERSONAL WORK
The sinner will hear, “DEPART FROM ME, YE THAT WORK INIQUITY”(Mat 7:23). He will, “go away into everlasting punishment” (Mat 25:46). To “the lake that burneth with fire and brimstone” (Rev 21:8). There “the smoke of their torment ascendeth up forever and ever”(Rev 14:11). Where the “WORM DIETH NOT AND THE FIRE IS NOT QUENCHED” (Mar 9:48).

7 RECOGNIZE THE NEED FOR PERSONAL WORK
All will sin and thus all will suffer the consequences of sin (Rom. 3:23; Rom. 6:23; Isa. 59:1-2). But what does it mean to be lost? (Mt. 7:23; 25:46; Rev. 21:8; 14:11; Mk. 9:48). But God doesn’t want that, He wants man to be redeemed (1 Tim. 2:3-4). So He warned man of his plight (Eze. 3:17; Gen. 3:3; Jon. 3:4; Acts 17:31).

8 RECOGNIZE THE NEED FOR PERSONAL WORK
“give them warning from me.” (Eze 3:17). “Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.” (Gen 3:3). “Nineveh shall be overthrown." (Jon 3:4). “because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness ”(Act 17:31).

9 RECOGNIZE THE NEED FOR PERSONAL WORK
All will sin and thus all will suffer the consequences of sin (Rom. 3:23; Rom. 6:23; Isa. 59:1-20). But what does it mean to be lost? (Mt. 7:23; 25:46; Rev. 21:8; 14:11; Mk. 9:48). But God doesn’t that, He wants man to be redeemed (1 Tim. 2:3-4). So He warned man of his plight (Eze. 3:17; Gen. 3:3; Jon. 3:4; Acts 17:31). Man has a choice: life or death (Rom. 6:23).

10 RECOGNIZE THE NEED FOR PERSONAL WORK
Man’s condition hasn’t changed! There are still millions of souls that are lost! How can they hear of God’s love for them and His desire for them to be saved if no one takes on this work? “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom 3:23)

11 RECOGNIZE There is a message to share
Must I Do Personal Work? RECOGNIZE There is a message to share

12 RECOGNIZE THERE IS A MESSAGE TO SHARE
“good tidings of great joy”(Lk. 2:10-11). “which shall be for all people” (Gen. 12:3; Isa. 2:2; Jn. 1:29) Jesus came to save all people (Lk. 19:10). Messengers were chosen (Mt. 4:18-22). Messengers were prepared (Jn. 20:21; Mt. 9:35-38; Jn. 20:30-31). Their mission was to preach (Mt. 10:1-8; Lk. 10:1).

13 RECOGNIZE THERE IS A MESSAGE TO SHARE
“a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord”-Lk. 2:10-11 The Savior’s coming was foretold (Mt. 1:21). To die for the sins of all (Isa. 53:6). Jesus came to give His life (Mt. 16:21). To save man from sin and death (Isa. 53:4-5). To reconcile man to God (Rom. 5:19). Thus we too must die to sin to live (1 Cor. 15:1-4; Rom. 6:3-6). Or be lost for eternity (2 Ths. 1:7-9).

14 RECOGNIZE THERE IS A MESSAGE TO SHARE
“into all the world”(Mk. 16:15). Apostles commissioned (Mt. 28:18-20). Christ left them to deliver message (2 Cor. 4:7). All must “…learn of me…” (Mt. 11:29). Then “Go…and teach” (Mt. 28:19).

15 RECOGNIZE THERE IS A MESSAGE TO SHARE
Man needs to be rescued from sin and death! God has answered the need! God has sent the message! Do we care enough to share it? “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Rom 5:8)

16 RECOGNIZE ALL MUST GO AND TEACH
Must I Do Personal Work? RECOGNIZE ALL MUST GO AND TEACH

17 RECOGNIZE ALL MUST GO AND TEACH
Parable of the talents (Mt. 25:14-30). Servants given the master’s goods (Mt. 25:14). How does this relate to you and me? Jesus has certainly gone to a “far country”! Has something been entrusted to us (2 Cor. 4:7)?

18 RECOGNIZE ALL MUST GO AND TEACH
Parable of the talents (Mt. 25:14-30). Servants given the master’s goods (Mt. 25:14). Jesus has left the gospel with us! This brings duty and responsibility on each one (Rom. 1:14; 1 Cor. 9:16; 1 Pet. 4:10-11). How many people do you come in contact with daily that haven’t heard the gospel?

19 RECOGNIZE ALL MUST GO AND TEACH
All servants given something (Mt. 25:15). Every servant received according to their abilities! What have you been given? Are you using it?

20 RECOGNIZE ALL MUST GO AND TEACH
All were expected to manage and increase what was entrusted to them (Mt. 25:16-18). First two increased talents! Are we spending time feeding on God’s word? Are we taking advantage of all the resources we have available to increase our abilities? If we’ll use our “talents” we will see an increase and growth (1 Pet. 2:2; Mt. 5:6; 2 Tim. 2:2, 24)!

21 RECOGNIZE ALL MUST GO AND TEACH
All were expected to manage and increase what was entrusted to them (Mt. 25:16-18). Other servant buried his talent! Fear held him back (Mt. 10:28)! “I CAN’T” “I DON’T WANT TO LOSE OUR FRIENDSHIP” “LET BROTHER ____ DO IT, HE’S MORE CAPABLE”

22 RECOGNIZE ALL MUST GO AND TEACH
All were expected to manage and increase what was entrusted to them (Mt. 25:16-18)! Other servant buried his talent! Fear held him back (Mt. 10:28)! “IT WILL NOT WORK HERE” “WE TRIED THAT ONCE AND IT FAILED” “WE’RE NOT READY FOR THAT HERE” “IT COSTS TOO MUCH”

23 RECOGNIZE ALL MUST GO AND TEACH
All were expected to manage and increase what was entrusted to them (Mt. 25:16-18). Other servant buried his talent! He was faithless (Col. 4:5-6; Eph. 5:15-17)! We cannot be afraid (Heb. 13:6)! We cannot be faithless (Rev. 2:10)!

24 RECOGNIZE ALL MUST GO AND TEACH
All were expected to manage and increase what was entrusted to them (Mt. 25:16-18). We need to trust in God and not self! The power is in the seed, not the sower! (Mt. 13:3; 1 Cor. 3:6; Rom. 1:16; Php. 4:13) Look at what Christ did with a few fishermen! (Mt. 4:18-22; Acts 4:13)

25 RECOGNIZE ALL MUST GO AND TEACH
All judged by their master(Mt. 25:19-30). Those who used them - rewarded, given more! (2 Tim. 4:6-8; Acts 20:26) The one who did nothing - lost everything! (Heb. 5:11-14)

26 RECOGNIZE ALL MUST GO AND TEACH
There is a need for mankind to be saved! There is a message to be delivered ! Each one who receives it must pass it on! “And the Lord said, "Who then is the faithful and sensible steward, whom his master will put in charge of his servants, to give them their rations at the proper time? "Blessed is that slave whom his master finds so doing when he comes. "Truly I say to you that he will put him in charge of all his possessions.” (Luk 12:42-44)

27 MUST I DO PERSONAL WORK? John 4:35

28 MUST I DO PERSONAL WORK? Sin has separated man from God.
God loves man so much that He provided a way for reconciliation. He has sent the Savior. He has given the Message. He has sent messengers.

29 MUST I DO PERSONAL WORK? Is there still a need for personal work?
We have seen there is a need, man needs redeeming! We have seen there is a message that needs to be shared, man can be redeemed! We have seen that all who have learned the message must go and share it!

30 MUST I DO PERSONAL WORK? If you are a Christian, God has entrusted you with the Gospel (2 Cor. 4:7). God has equipped you with all you need to share it (2 Tim. 3:16-17; Eph. 4:11-13). If you have come and learned of Christ, you must then go and teach!

31 MUST I DO PERSONAL WORK? And the Lord said, "Who then is the faithful and sensible steward, whom his master will put in charge of his servants, to give them their rations at the proper time? "Blessed is that slave whom his master finds so doing when he comes. "Truly I say to you that he will put him in charge of all his possessions. (Luk 12:42-44)
