2 The Right to Vote in Great Britain
1830-Protests around England demanding extension of suffrage 1867-Working class men are extended the vote. 1832-Parliament passes Reform Bill extending vote to middle class men. 1837 Victoria becomes Queen of Great Britain and Ireland 1830 1900 Women are finally given the right to vote after World War I (1920) in Britain and the U.S.A 1838-Chartist Movement sends demands to Parliament in the People’s Charter of 1838 1884-Male rural workers are given the vote. Revolution of 1830 in France frightens Parliamentary leaders

5 Correcting a myth! The tobacco was NOT named after the most well known Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (pictured left). There were MANY Prince Alberts in European history. The can depicts a man with a full beard. The most famous Albert only wore mutton chops. Note the racism of the advertisement in 1907.
