Lesson 3 Overview of SurgiNet Applications

2 SurgiNet Applications
With the release of the SurgiNet module, several new applications will become available. Depending on your security level, some features within an application may not be available to you. The new applications that will be released with the implementation of SurgiNet are briefly discussed on the slides that follow. However, additional training (manuals and tutorials) are available on KDNet for the SurgiNet modules that will be released. For additional training information, refer to the Education Section of KDnet: Introduction to SurgiNet Applications

3 SurgiNet Applications – Case Tracking
SurgiNet Case Tracking allows you to quickly view online surgical case information, requested or completed events, and other real-time case data. Based on your access level, you may have the ability to modify information, or only view it. Introduction to SurgiNet Applications

4 SurgiNet Applications - PowerForms
SurgiNet PowerForms allows you to document (chart) unordered results and documents. Within SurgiNet, the following PowerForms will be used: Pre-Surgery Nursing Assessment Pre-Procedure Checklist Post-Op Call Procedure Introduction to SurgiNet Applications

5 SurgiNet Applications – IntraOp Documentation
SurgiNet's IntraOperative Documentation allows users to create an online record of surgical case data information such as Case Attendees, Case Times, and Surgical Time Out. Introduction to SurgiNet Applications

6 SurgiNet Applications – Preference / Procedure Cards
In SurgiNet, preference cards and procedure cards are used to document surgeon preference and surgical procedure information to be used during surgical cases (ex. an appendectomy is the procedure, but the supplies used during an appendectomy performed by Dr. Mahaffey is a preference). Think of it this way: the procedure card is a recipe; the preference card is the recipe after it has been modified for your taste. Introduction to SurgiNet Applications

7 SurgiNet Applications – Scheduling
