2 Interphase Consists of the G1, S, and G2 phases of the cell cycle.
The cell grows & carries out its normal routine functions. Cell spends 90% of its time in this phase.

3 Prophase Nuclear membrane dissolves. Chromosomes become visible.
Centrioles migrate to the poles and spindle fibers form.

4 Chromosomes line up along the equator.
Metaphase Chromosomes line up along the equator.

5 Chromatids separate and are pulled towards the poles.
Anaphase Chromatids separate and are pulled towards the poles.

6 Telophase Nuclear membrane reforms. Spindle fibers disappear.
Two nuclei are formed and cytokinesis begins.

7 Cytokinesis Cytoplasm divides forming two new cells, called daughter cells. Each cell is genetically identical.

8 (cell growth) Interphase
