1 Cell Cycle -the cell cycle is the process a cell undergoes when it is dividing -there are two main phases during the cell cycle: -interphase: the cell grows and gathers nutrients for mitosis -mitosis: the phase when the cell begins division -there are three phases that are identified within interphase that go in the following order: Gap 1, or G1 2. Synthesis, or S 3. Gap 2, or G2 -Gap 0, or G0 is a resting phase where no division is occurring (cell is resting)

2 Cell Cycle -most often, cells are found in the G0 phase
-during the G1 phase, the cell grows larger and prepares to replicate DNA -during the S phase, genetic material is replicated to be given to another cell -during the G2 phase, the cell prepares for division by getting organelles ready
