Wilson’s and Sullivan’s Scoop Sept. 12th – Sept. 16th
What I’m Learning: This week our mentor text is “The Paper Bag Princess” . In Reading, we are visualizing to create mental pictures, rereading to gain more details, making text-to-self connections, and inferencing. In grammar, we are exploring simple subjects and simple predicates. In writing, we are writing personal narratives. In math, we are learning strategies to help us divide. We will have an ISP (short test over Division Strategies on Friday. We will also have our 2nd Fact Fluency test Friday, 25 problems, 5 minutes, multiplication and division with 0’s, 1’s, 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s. Vocabulary words and definitions: 1. Unfortunate - unlucky 2. Fortunate– lucky 3. Immense – huge or very large 4. Fierce/fiercest – danderous or violent 5. magnificent – If something is magnificent, you admire it because of its great beauty or size. 6. Ungrateful – not thankful or not grateful. Date: ______ Teacher News: We will have a Book Fair Sept. 12th – 16th. Wilson’s class will shop during library time on Monday and Sullivan’s class will shop in the library on Tuesday. Grandparent’s Day is Sept. 16th. Invite them to come (Or a representative for them). Our fundraiser is up and going! Sell at least one $25 coupon book to win a prize. PTO – Now is the time to join! Parents, we have snack at 10:00. Please make sure your child has a snack or purchases one. All snacks are 50 cents each. Sullivan’s homeroom wear tennis shoes on Thurs. Wilson’s on Wed. for P.E. Homework: Reading: (Due on Friday) Assignment 1: Reading Log Assignment 2: Math: (Math homework is due nightly) Mon.- Match the Quotient p. 5 Tues.- 3.OA.2, p. 4 Wed.-Dividing with repeated subtraction, p. 1 Thurs.- Math Review Tests this week: Reading and Math: Monday – Tuesday – Wednesday – Thurs. – Friday – Vocabulary Test, ISP on Division Strategies and Fact Fluency Test #2.
